Show me your indoor brooders!

I'm unable to use my outdoor brooder at the moment due to a heating issue. I will have to brood chicks indoors even though the smell gets to everyone else who I live with. I'm also waiting to hear back from a breeder to see if I'll be able to buy their broody Silkies.

The brooder itself is missing. I have all other supplies.
I'm only getting 10 chicks max for right now.

I use an extra large dog crate, lined with cardboard.

The heating plate is in the right end. To the left is a window, so they could acclimate to natural day/night cycle. It's 2.5x4 feet. It was $83, so not cheap. I have several uses for it, and it's in great shape, so I thought it was worth the cost.

I always brood with a cardboard box so after it's use I break it down. This large sized brooder was made from 4 medium sized cardboard box. I had 2 month old serama on one side and one month old Swedish flowers on the other. 13 birds in total.
Also to prevent smells and dust, use paper towels or newspapers for there bedding. If you place 10 to 20 sheets on the ground, it will make for a quick clean up when it's time to remove the top sheet then you have a clean one on the bottom of it. Clean the brooder twice a day. This was sitting in my living room during winter 2 years ago.

I don't use cardboard at all but thanks for posting. I'm sure others will like the idea and use it.

Does the tent help cut down their dander dust? Or I mean, does it keep it contained? Lol
