Show me your poop boards!

I hope it's a neighbor. I wouldn't want to be transporting a bucket of poop in my trunk regularly. :sick
Funny that a carcass composter would be squeamish about poop.
It's not far, a few miles, 3 kitty litter buckets at a time...
...not a big deal, outsides of buckets are 'clean'.
I have a van they have a PU truck and a hatch back.

I don't have to smell the stuff composting. The pile really has very little odor except while turning it. I am just thinking about the bucket of poop we get and that stuff can be funky on its own, especially the quail poop.

Well, yeah, sh!t stinks...
...but doesn't stink up the van, lids on buckets and it's not in there long.

I was happy to hear that you are a fellow composter! Frankly my double compost tumbler has been known to stink sometimes (I add green kitchen scraps too) but my coop and run hardly smell because of the scrape boards and mulching of my run. I also poop scoop droppings from run and free range to add to tumbler. I have found adding carbon (leaves) has been an almost instant neutralizer (and godsend!). I am cooking to blackgold in about 3-4 weeks if I also add horse poop to hurry things up. Then let chickens scratch bugs out (and then re-scratch bugs out... and then re-scratch bugs out) seems a pretty win, win. Pathogens are what I fear.View attachment 1642961
Do you use regular tree mulch in your run? Thinking of doing the same...

I have some mulch in my run. I plan to add more if I can get my chipper fixed, which is at a local shop right now. I keep a cold compost pile (a poorly maintained pile of pulled weeds) in the run too. The hens love to forage through it.

I do. We asked the county contracted tree trimmers to drop some off for us. They were more than happy to dump their load and did not charge us. Matter of fact they kept dropping it off for awhile so we got a nice stock pile. I just grab a few bags every now and then to refresh run and coop. It works great. :D

I’ve been inspired to do a poop board thanks!
