lets see the pen is 3'X4" 1 sheet of plywood cut the sheet into (2) 4'X4' Pieces cut one of these into (2) 2'x4' pieces rip the first piece down to 3'X4' This one is the roof the (2) 2'X4' pieces are the sides the floor the front door and the back are wire is this about right?

very close! the roof is 4x4. i cut 1' off the other 4'x4 (1' x4' for the back) then with the remaining wood i made a diaganol cut that resulted in 2 3' long pieces that slope from 1' (the back) to 3' the front. The entire front is screen- 2 doors.

Yes, Bill .......... I have small bait nets (about 10" diameter) with different length handles on them. Works good. Good Luck with the GG's Bill............I'm itchin' to start my new crop. Gonna put the heat and light on them in about 2 more weeks. Hopefully by that time Mother Nature will start winding down on her frigid night temps, and by the time they're laying good, I won't be having to contend with frozen eggs.

Here is mine, almost done I want to add asphault shingles on the top and the sleeping area. Its all recycled wood (had to buy hardwear, screws and wire) ugly crap wood we had in the yard, most of the plywood was from shipping crates from a local buisness, leftover paints from another project.

Made it a little too deep, next time going with no deeper than 24", and its 6'3 tall at the peak.

Sorry for the slow response (ugh work). Here is a quick sketch of my design of the 1 sheet of plywood coop. Disclaimer -I am a pretty haphazard carpenter so the fact that it seemed to work was mostly luck

(Also the nesting box on the side was an after addition and not included in the 1 sheet.)

Here is what it took;
1 4x8' sheet of plywood (3 cuts - roof 4'x4', back 1'x4', and the sides both 3' long and sloping from 3' to 1' in height.
8' of 3' tall wire mesh for bottom (4'x3') and 2 doors (each a bit less than 3' tall & 2' wide)
several (I think aprroximately 5 though I was not counting) 8' 1 1/2"xs (to frame door and to tack the plywood together)
and here is the pic of the end product again to clarify my messy sketch (again I broke into another piece of plywood to add the side nesting box which I use to herd them into while i am cleaning out the coop (it has a little ramp that doubles as a door). I have also since added 1/8 " mesh to the bottom 6" of the door for further predator proofing (not in pic).

Here is an updated picture that includes the addition of the 1/8" mesh- and more importantly lanscaping (haha 1 Icelandic Poppy)
