This is my growout in the garage. Its made from OSB and is several months old. I made it out of OSB to test as its cheap but it is seeming to last pretty well anyway so Im going to use it til it falls into a state of disrepair. So far I cant tell that there is any wear on it.

Each row is in a drawer that slides in and out. Pretty much I put a sheet of paper int he bottom and place the cage in there and the cage sits about an inch and a half above the floor so that droppings fall onto the paper. I ahve a bit of sawdust so I sprinkle it onteh paper to absorb any moisture. When its time to change the bedding I slide out the drawer and pick up the wire cage. I turn over the base and dump it and re newspaper the bottom. I clean it about once a week or so on average and it goes into the compost. Takes very little time to clean. Im experimenting withthe feeders. So far the easiest is the water pvc with nipples, and the bottom feeder that is a J feeder amde from wood. Theres a door I can close easily in teh event that I am grinding or working in the garage hard enough to scare them. Seems to work well enough for me. The doors fold in for easy handling. They see me all the time so they arent afraid of me and dont get disturbed unless IM making a lot of noise, but I shut the door ahead of time and they dont seem to mind much at all. I would like to make another one. I did this as I have limited room in a city lot. They are good as they are not noisy and are not nervous like leghorns or bobwhites.

I just switched over to a wire floor pen, but until recently I kept a quad in a set-up like this. Worked great for a small scale home operation.. Actually a little bigger than it looks, 5 square feet and with straw or wood shavings pretty easy and quick to clean. The tray on top of the cozy box is their dust bath and I use the tube waterer instead of a traditional livestock waterer which keeps the floor dry and the poops out of the water.

haha they look better than mine too, but mine isn't so bad. Might take a pic and post anyway if I can get the stupid camera working again.
