I begged my husband to build me a quail cage for years (he used to be a chippy)....
i wanted something very basic made of recycled material...well in the end 75% of the wood was recycled timber, but its far from being a basic box, its a beauty!

careful, when you ask a carpenter to build you something it will:
1) not be simple and basic
2) be a good excuse to buy more tools!
if was definitely not a cheap venture, but for a couple living in a urban area with a small backyard, this is a great way to integrate into our landscape.

Yes, they do. I installed mines like 5 or 6 in high.

There's only 200 lol. I just picked up a batch of 424 day old chicks yesterday. Lol.
