Thank you all so very much. I just buried little Show Off; there wasn't a new mark on her, but Luau's face is fairly beat up. He looks more like he got in a fight with another rooster. He has torn spots on his face and head and only one small mark on his back. Being white it looks horrible though. I'll miss her, she was very special and such a survivor.

OMG I'm so sorry WoW. That is so awful. I just came across this post tonight for the first time and was happily reading about her recovery and bond with the cat. I am SO sorry.

I couldn't find Pudster until just a bit ago, he showed up at the front door at 3am which is why I'm awake. He's got some injuries too, I don't know if he got in a fight
or if he got attacked defending his birds. It's nothing too serious just painful I think.

Darn it! I was so hopeful she would recover and I wanted to see her all feathered out. Poor baby.

Her recovery was going so well,, she was getting her feathers back on her chest and neck. That hawk swooped by again this morning so I called the NMFS and told them I have another problem bird, they are going to see if they can relocate this one too.
