I can combine a couple pullets and a stag even if they do not know each other. May require a little supervision. Best to let them out of pen to settle differences first. Pullets present the bigger problem which is why I combine breeding groups in a 10 x 10 dog kennel. When mature cock is part of equation he typically supresses female fighting. If cock has issues with one hen but not others, then cull her as he something we do not always pick up on. Make certain pullets / hens in good condition prior to introduction.

This is exactly my setup. Same size dog pen with one cock and 4 hens. Got a 5x5 pen connected to it for the first hen that lays and gets broody. I'll get another 5x5 pen for the next one & so on. By this time next year I'll hopefully have 20-30 pullets + a stag or two in the woods & a few select birds for next year's breeding season.

Things aren't always what they seem on cl not saying good birds aren't on there just do some homework on what to look for beforehand.
