Dang. I mean to tell you, y’all grow them huge up north.View attachment 1968936 This was Choochie, he topped out at 70lbs; sadly he had an infection and had to be put down and we couldn’t eat him. His mate though was only slightly smaller, and when he went I chose to end her suffering, (due to a broken toe that would t heal), at the same time. So we did roast her, and she was delicious! Despite being 4yrs old, she was tender and juicy. I only did half at a time though, I could never have put her whole in the oven!
I dont think I have ever seen turkeys that big before unless I count my ex.
I’ll be dang if that bird don’t make your mouth water!![]()

Well did ya now? That oughta make anything taste good. Thanks ! I stuck a can of beer up its butt.![]()
Thats exactly the same thing they do to me at the drs when they try to get my weight !Yes Choochie was a pet too, but I always said we’d eat him when the time came, he was nice with me and I was sorry for the way things ended. He was a broad breasted bronze too, he was six and he just kept getting bigger! The last time I weighed him he was five and it was a real struggle, I had to get him in a laundry basket to do it and we were both pretty stressed - do you have any idea how hard it is to deadlift 70lbs of thrashing struggling turkey!?!
Okay, really he just sat on that empty can, huh?Well, half a can anyway.![]()
You know , I was really shocked it didnt tip over !!Okay, really he just sat on that empty can, huh?![]()
