Show Off Your Brahmas!

Oh, you said the magic word. I've loved this group of Brahmas, partridge, blue partridge and one Dark Brahma hen. My rooster, Bash (Sebastian, character from "Reign"), is the biggest, calmest rooster ever. They do eat more than my long gone hatchery Brahma hens did, but they are also larger birds, from a breeder in NY, our BYC member brahmapapa. They do have their own thread, but I rarely pass up a chance to show off this big guy. The only bad thing about Bash is that he's so huge, he can't have just any hens, must have Brahma-size hens. My Marvin Stukel line Barred Rock hens are large enough, but they're too old at 7 years to put up with a young guy like Bash, even if they didn't have their own rooster they're comfortable with.

Lovely birds, the feathered feet are awesome. I don't have any with that trait, so it always catches my eye

I'm so glad you posted these pictures. You have the best Brahmas. I love bash. I want a 6' poster of him next to the hen house!:wee

One of my Brahma pullets. They are big sun bathers, hog the window all day.

@speckledhen, I think I've said this before, but I have to say it again:
YOU HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BIRDS!!!!!

Thanks, Trish! I cannot take credit for Bash, of course. brahmapapa raises some spectacular Brahmas. All I did was hatch, raise and keep them healthy. But, Bash has a daughter, Cora, who is now one of his hens. And there will probably be more later in the spring, we'll see. Bash is about to be immortalized in oils by my husband, though he is painting him for a friend of his who wants a rooster painting for over her fireplace. I told him he had to do another one for me like he did of my late, beloved Isaac.
