I don't think you can beat a big, beautiful, blousey Orpington for looks or temperament. I currently have Orps in white, spangled, blue and Jubilee and have chicks in lavender, gold laced and buff.....kinda leaning towards specialising in Orps me thinks!

I want a jubilee so bad there so beautiful but there always not a available at the hatchery because there just introduced to it

Is that shredded paper in the nest box? I have some paper but I'm convinced they would just eat it!

Sorry to say this but I suffered from a snake attack but luckly got there in time it only got one but it was my favorite little buff

I have used shredded paper in the hen houses for five years and although they do occasionally suck a piece up like it was spaghetti, they really don't bother much and I find it keeps them warm in winter, cool in summer, is nice and absorbent and, of course, is totally free!!!

Love my Belgian Cuckoo Malines! Hard to beat these birds for dual purpose. Plenty of meat that stays tender up to 6 months of age.
