They already have that Del look in their eyes and a little stink eye too. Nice younguns. I hope to be setting eggs by this weekend. I'm getting in the mood to hear some peeping again.

Thanks everyone, This is the first time I hatched any I bread & I think they came out nice, I thought at one time about getting out of the Dellies. but my wife talked me into keeping them, Im glad she did, They are such a good breed, never have any trouble out of them & once they start laying its nonstop eggs, just a all around good bird, Everybody keep up the good work, Rebel

Well, I haven't been on BYC much lately, but since the new year is here...I have begun thinking about my upcoming breeding program...which has gotten me excited about things again!

Last night I purchased a Wusthof Classic 5" Boning knife. I have been wanting one for several years for processing deer. I was able to justify the purchase by saying that I'll also be butchering a large number of chickens this year! I am looking forward to getting it.

I have to start working on building some small coops for breeding. Currently everyone is together in the large (8'x12') coop and run. I think I need to build a minimum of 3 coops. My plan is to make them 4'x8' and have them inside of a 16'x16' run. Does anyone have any good plans or pictures of small coops? While I want them to look fairly decent, I don't want to spend a tremendous amount of money on each one.

Excited about making some progress on these Dels!
