I am glad I didn't get the older Delawares. You know so much more about breeding than I do, so I know those pretty birds will be put to good use. I am really excited that they are from the same breeders. I know now I will get some good open tails down the road if I work at it. If yours are 4 months, I should know in another month what kind of tails I am going to get. Mine are just starting to get their tail feathers. Seems like I read somewhere that open tail feathers are related to egg production. I don't know if it is true, but if it is, those 3 breeders will give you lots of eggs. I can't wait to see the next generation. Good job Stan. They are around 4 months old Cindy, I'm not positive, I had rolling hatches going on with other breeds in there too and did these as an after thought. They are from the same breeding as your birds. These are the only 2 I have kept so far, and I intend to replace 2 of the hens with these. I'll have a total of 3 breeding females next year!! With better results I hope. I had to cull a lot of birds to get these. They were in the pen with your Aussies. ......stan
The green legs won't affect her egg laying ability, but a good Delaware has yellow legs. Are green legs bad? I have one delaware chick with green legs, I love her, and I will not breed her.
Kathy they are so cute.
