Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Isaac is so sweet. He talks and talks and jumps up on the roost to say hello to me, then jumps back down and calls the girls. Why do I get so attached to my roosters? Suede was being his sweet-Suedenator self today, too. And even Dutch hasn't been any trouble lately. Of course, Zane is a complete angel and always has been. I'm a sucker for a handsome rooster.

I love our rooster, Rupert, the Cuckoo Marans. But, due to shifting and changing things around here .... had to sell him. The family are all moping around, and he isn't even gone yet! He is a Christmas present for a little 6 year old boy!

I'm hoping one of these little Dellie guys is gonna be my next favorite roo!

*sigh* I already have one - he jumps on my hand and lets me cuddle him and rub his chest. . . . . I may end up with trio breeding pens all over the place if he isn't the best roo out of the bunch!

I think instead of Fattie and Cannonball mindspeaking, we need to get Thor on the stick to Isaac!

Unless I end up with a real meany for a roo, I know it is gonna be difficult to get rid of any of these Dellies! I have become so attached to them! It's true, they do love to be petted and have a little chest rub. They love human contact! It still amazes me.

Kathy, how do you do your staggered hatches, I don't quite understand how that goes. Do you leave the 2nd and 3rd batch of eggs in after you take out the 1st or do you use 3 different hatchers?

What is it with roosters? Ya gotta love em you just gotta. I love my Thor and Severus and Sirius albeit Draco is a butthead but hey that is okay, I give them all kisses, scratches and rubs. Granted this is coming from a woman who wants to go to GA, walk into Suede's run and sit down and let him climb all over me and talk to him. You know they have stuff to say so you gotta talk to them. And I was so hoping for a Ike son as well...but I have a Suede son so I am content.

I take the first batch out and put them into another incubator for hatching. Then, when the second batch is ready for lockdown, I move them into the hatcher, and so on .... Just keep movin' the ones ready for lockdown into the higher humidity incubator.

Actually, this time I am gonna leave the last two batches in the Sportsman to hatch. Just movin' out the first lot (Marans) to hatch in the HovaBator.
