Happy New Years everyone. I've tried to post twice today, third times the charm!

Kathy, those chick pictures need a warning label for too much cuteness!

Those pictures of the young handsome roost are lovely. I have 6 crowing roosters and 4 11 week olds. Boys are hard to get rid of!

Re the OCD - I was beyond that in my 20's...so bad that my closets and cabinets were organized by color, type, material and length! Whoa be it to someone who messed with my closet (ex-hubby) and my cabinets were arranged so that everything was in order of dimensions, number, use and labels facing the exact same ...I would worry over it 100 times per day checking everything...everything in my life was that way....College was crazy because I nearly beat the snot out of my dormmate for moving my notebooks one day....I could not stand it. I finally found a way to deal with it and snap out of it, if you will. But not before I drove everyone in my family nuts....I was that way from the time I could walk so my mother says. It used to hurt my feelings (yes that is possible to do every now and then) whenever someone said something about it to me.

Now...I could care less if you rearrange my kitchen, playing party games in my closet or touch and mvoe everything. But I still get into something "all or nothing". I was going to have 6 little girls to play with and give me eggs...then 5 more and then 21 more, then buy an incubator to hatch Suede and Isaac babies...11 ducklings came in the mix too...yeah I understand. I still check every door and window and lock three times before I can get comfy to sleep at night....I check the duckie doors and chicken doors and the youngins in the garage a couple of times before I go to bed too.

Now for my Dellie discussion..... ahem

We need to discuss the pitbull tendancies of the Kira offspring. Fattie, the love that she is, is NOT an angel or even close to it. She and I had issues this morning when she decided to bite, hang on and shake her head like a bulldog. This ATTENTION of hers was caused for the sole purpose of enlightening me to the fact that when the brooder door opens I am to ignore Cannonball lauching herself on me, Thor talking to me and wanting a rub and Athena looking for food and I am to immediately proceed to pick her up! As I failed in that mission, I was bitten until I picked her up, at which she immediately let go and rubbed her face against my chest.

So I ask you....What is up with these Kira babies? Is there a bulldog DNA strand in there somewhere or what? How do we cure them is the most important question.

This IS a good beginning discussion for 2010- as I am getting the same thing from a couple of mine- I have had to lightly whap them on the top of the head or grab their beak- they don't look angry or mean, but they want immediate attention or immediate food. If I pick them up, they are fine- I actually can't wait till I can put them out on grass - bugs and worms won't stand a chance. I assume some of mine are Kira's also. . . . .

We are pooping out and going to bed- again, Happy New Year!!!!

Uh......dead silence on the thread.. . . .OH NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Dellie mind control!!!- you've all been taken over and I've been left behind!!!!!!!

hahahaha I admit that I have been playing with my babies this morning and even brought Thor and Cannonball inside for a bit. They wandered around the kitchen while I fixed their oatmeal. DH was not pleased nor unhappy to see two chickens by the dog food bowl when he came out of the bedroom. He merely shook his head.
