Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Yes they were sexed at the hatchery. We hope they are right. So far they have always been correct for us. I guess will find out in a few weeks. As they get older will try to post more pics. Thanks.

The Delawares are the coolest chicks, so curious, brave, and friendly. Later on, they need to have lots to do and see or they get bored and start making trouble. I think they actually do much better in a free-range situation.

Who was it that wanted to know how to count the points on the comb? I found this illustration ....

Kathy, that illustration is from the SOP, right? Is a strawberry comb the same thing as what people call a walnut comb?

Is any little point back on the blade part considered a point ?

Coop- those are adorable- you are getting the Dellie mind control look from one of them already!

Hillbilly Hen- where are you getting yours from?

I hatched 6 Delawares last Friday. I remember someone on this thread saying look for a black spot on there head and it will be a rooster. Well I have one chick with a tiny black spot the others do not have it. So it will be interesting to see what happens. Time will tell.

har, that is not true about the black spot. I always have two or three with it and many more roosters that don't have it. It's just a mark with no real significance. Wonder where that misinformation started anyway? I've seen it on a website and it's completely false.

Beth, the walnut comb like a Silkie isn't on that page Kathy posted. It's different than strawberry.

Thanks for telling me that. Although it would have been nice to have one rooster and five hens out of that hatch.
