JamesA - if you like to hatch THAT much, maybe I should hire you to hatch some of Cyn's BBS eggs for me! Then I don't have to buy an incubator and worry about how I am going to keep any room in this house a steady temperature, and she won't have to worry about who is going to go broody.

CrazyLady- good to hear from you again, and I am glad Sweetheart was such a hit with your grandmother!

I love the Dellie lap chickens I have, too. It is SO sweet- they pile on and start cooing and chortling. Lizzie likes to bury her head in the crook of my arm. Buckshot likes roosting on my ankles.

Glad your RIR went to a good home, Cyn.

hmmmmmm *zipping her lips*

Okay we are nearly there....just my bedroom left, last minute modifications to birds' cages and such and then all the cleaning....whew I am exhausted! Naptime for me so I will see everyone later.

Just checking in.

Cyn I'm glad to see someone is able to downsize. My husband keeps making fun of me. He doesn't understand that not all the roosters are staying!!! He thinks I won't be able to give them up! Of course he is watching me play with them every night, having them crawl all over me, loving on me, using me as a jungle gym...

The one that is learning to peck at my lips though, I'm not growing as fond of. Everyone is growing like crazy, you weren't kidding about that Splash Orp catching up. At first I had such trouble telling the Orp from the White Java's because they both have that yellow chick with a grey tint to the end of the fluff.... but now the Orp is twice the size of the Java's which are slow growing birds.

LadyHawk, I am sending you many blessings. The amount of stress you have on yourself right now, I can't imagine not having a breakdown. Moving, doing all the packing and cleaning yourself. Sending your daughter on ahead. (OK, I have one that age, and I actually know that's really a stress reliever <giggle>)

I remember when we were packing up the apartment to move into our house only 35 minutes away, this was after our big relocation. We sent our daughter to stay with her grandparents while we finished the packing. Her room was brutal. In the end we just got a shovel and some boxes. I swear, we just shoveled it all in to be dealt with at the other end. We had a deadline.....other than trash, which there were bags of, we just couldn't afford to sort. I know God gives them to us young and cute so we don't beat them to death when they hit the teens!!!

Here is a blessing of my people for you...

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.

And rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

In case I don't get on again before you leave.....

Laney

Thank you Laney. I was up till 2:30 in the morning last night re-packing her room. when I saw the boxes neatly stacked against the wall I smiled...then I opened the closet. Good grief! so, I opened one box just to see how it was packed...HOLY HELLO. I found an empty soda bottle with the lid on it. When I said put everything in boxes I did not mean your trash. So, I repacked everything.

I did have a breakdown tonight and called a friend to say Goodbye and ending up crying...so she came over and stayed here with me helping pick up misc. stuff in in the...she just went home so I am going to try to get some sleep and will hit it again in the morning....

I am worrying about my birds and considering options and could not sleep so nap, just a good cry, chat with a friend and now sleep. I hope.

Night Night all.

LadyHawk, soon this will all be over and you will be able to rest and enjoy your beautiful new home. A good cry does wonders and a good friend to cry with is even better!

We will all be thinking about you and waiting for the post from the new house. The chickens will be fine, they are survivors!

Thanks for the laugh about your daughters trash in the box. Kids always have interesting things in their boxes LOL!
