Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Cyn got me hooked on them and I have the Ga Red Clay too. Sometimes they get a little "dirty" looking, but they don't seem to mind, so I guess I don't either. This breed is the closest thing to "a dog on 2 legs with feathers" I have ever seen.

Ladyhawk Update! She called and omigosh, what a trial she's had! They're still in Oregon! They got about a hundred miles and a tire on the trailer blew. They waited a couple hours to get another tire, went a distance and same tire blew again! Then, they spent the night in a motel. (I hope I have the order right, she got all this out in a rush as she was driving) They had to unpack the trailer and transfer everything to another truck, which she is now driving a 10 ft truck while her DH drives the 26 ft one.

Plus, since the pass was snowy, they are going hours out of their way to go up, then over and back down around a gorge (I think).
I've said prayers for her so anyone else's would be good to add! I'm just happy that this didn't happen in the middle of nowhere!

Yard full o' rocks :

Now why did you have to say that. I love friendly chickens.... Lets see, with the addition I put on last fall I have about an 8x14 coop. I have 9hens 1 Roo, 8 little chicks part of which are sure to be males. I have a 12x50 run. Hummmmmmmm. A group of 6 might do it. What do you think??? , Cyn, if I have another broody can I get some eggs. Now I've said it. Can't go back on ones word can we? LOL Gloria jean

You got PLENTY O' SPACE!!! Not sure what Cyn's situation is with Issac (the main man rooster). His girls were picking on him and she had to move some around. However, there are enough of us with Cyn's "grandchickens" close to you that we could get you started!!!!

Well, you may be able to get some from Scott if you want pure Delawares. My Isaac has Orpington, Brahma and EE ladies right now. No Dels with him. He's happier--the older ladies don't pick on him at all. He and my Lt. Brahma, Miranda, are soulmates.

I am SOOOOO glad that he is a happy man!! He's too good a rooster to put up with such nonsense from his ladies.

As far as getting you started Gloria Jean...no problem here. My newest girls have just started laying, so in a few weeks we should have plenty of eggs. I can even throw them in the bator for you if you like....I have a Sportsman running 24/7 so it would be no problem at all.

Cyn - keep us updated on Ladyhawk. I bet she is a bundle of nerves. Praying traveling mercies for her throughout the remainder of this trip!!

Gloria Jean, I am in Canton- just down the road from you- please feel free to visit and see mine- my girls have just started laying also, so I should have fertilized eggs suitable for hatching fairly soon. My roo is getting very enthusiastic with his girls - I have a Blue Orp roo that is a Suede son, so we are already related!!!

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR CETAWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott- I didn't mean to jump in on your offer of Dels to Gloria Jean- I just got all excited that she is so close to me! I love showing my kids off!
You really have a bator going 24/7?????

Good gracious, no problem. You are SOOOOO much closer than I am!!!

And yes, Kathy hasa "rubbed off" on me. My Sportsman is running like a freight train. Right now I have BBS rocks and SQ Barred Rocks in there....tomorrow is Day 18, so looking to have an "almost Easter" hatch. I am going to use the SQ Barred Rocks to improve my BBS bunch and maybe even my Columbians.
