Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

PS: Aren't ya'll glad I am back on the East Coast now? muahahahahahaha

I know I am. In a few weeks, she will be leaving here with at least a couple of chicks plus Delilah, who is a gift for Thor (and possibly Nora).

Nugget is on Day 18 on Wednesday. By Saturday, we'll have babies and Zane can play Uncle Zane again.

Let's see. . . . four rifles, a pistol,a couple of hunting knives, two fierce (well, at least they bark loudly) dogs, one fantastic attack cat and four rubyouranklestillyoutrippussies, three Arabians who kick on command, a 6'5" DH and a 5'3" farm girl who has been known to pack a punch in her day. . . . . . Nope, not even Cetawin can get through that. Whew! The Orps are safe!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I am NOT anywhere near as nice as Cynthia.

BUT, I would consider trades later on- like Ultrasuede/ Desiree and/or Katia or Valentina or Silk or Satin babies for Thor/ Athena and Thor/Luna babies!

Actually, I think it's fantastic you are back in this foretaste of Heaven. Now we just need to get a few more Dellie lovers to move to NC, TN, GA or KY and we can have a convention. And you are more than welcome to swing by to LOOK at my babies.

He will learn em good.

Popcornpuppy I hope your broody does well and has a wonderful hatch.

So, Beth...do you think I would announce my arrival? Come in un camoed? You are talking to the woman who took 48 minutes to walk 30 feet past 9 people sitting around a camp fire...and I did it standing straight up out in the open. But, I will not steal them I was merely offering to help you with the extras

No trades that have Thor or Athena's names in it. Nope notta.

Speaking of Thor, I was telling Cyn about this on the phone today...Thor has a flaw...OMG did I say that? Whenever the food dish is put down where they are free-ranging, Thor stands guard over the feeder and will only let Athena, Fattie and Cannonball eat from it...he chases everyone else away or thunks them on the head. When HIS three girls are done, he lets everyone else at the feeder.

So what is up with that?

Kathy...Polly is not off my radar just yet. hehehehehe

Today I broke down and was tired of putting the ducks out, putting them up and putting the chickens out....I just let everyone out. Ducks and chickens. No problems really, no fights and the ducks played in their pool and watched my red cochin and BOs eat their food. Everyone played nice so that is a worry off my mind.

Thor is being selective?

That is good news about the ducks and chickens getting along- I would still love to add ducks to our crew!!

Beth...let me know when you want to add duckies and if my girls are laying I will send you some eggs. I have some great duckies. I have Ancona and Golden Welsh Harlequins from Holderread's and they are both listed as critically endangered and they are a hoot!

Some pics from yesterday

I might have to get Thor Jersey Giants if he does not stop growing soon. LOL

After they thoroughly inspected under the deck, Fattie and Athena went to look for trouble

Thor has watched me go to the wood line and shoo everyone back away from the woods and he has now learned to go get them and bring them back...so I said "Thor, go get your women and bring them back" and he amazed me by turning and doing just that...LOL

Being goofy and chasing tossed grapes

7630_hpim6908.jpg

Cannonball...you can see her barred smutty tail feathers and light markings

Sunning girls

7630_hpim6910.jpg

Cannonball's Dead Chicken imitation ...notice Thor ignoring her and eating anyway.

DelGirl, I just realized you were asking about the bistro doggie feeder...it works great out on the range and in their sleeping coops. Thor has had that feeder and matching waterer since he was a couple weeks old. when I get my new coop I am buying the bigger ones for their pens...like wolfhound size. hahahahaha

Good morning Dellie lovers everywhere!!!!

Cetawin, I LOVE that picture of Thor going after his girls- you can see determination in every line of his body!!! He is really one smart boy, isn't he?
I love your ducks- are they content with the kiddie pool? Are they hard on it?

No big news on the Dellie front - Lizzie continues to slowly improve, and I still have this very frustrating problem with soft shelled eggs from someone or other- I had a few days where I thought it had cleared up, but now they are back- I have fed yogurt, sprinkled oyster shell on their treats as well as put a huge plate of it out there- do you all think the ground up egg shell might work better?

Oh he is one smart cookie for sure and so alert. He is always watching the skies and the area. I am so proud of him, he is doing his daddy proud too.

The duckie love their kiddie pool. I had one small one like this one and a larger one back in Oregon. Once I get the coop and their runs set up, each breed will have their own run and their own pool. I love them because they are tough and inexpensive. I think the small one was $10 at wal-mart. The last ones they had were in great shape after almost a year of use.
