All day, during the middle of the day mostly. UGH. One of the Dels has already zipped though, she'll be out tonight for sure. I'll wait up to make sure she hatches okay. Notice I'm taking a page out of Cetawin's book and referring to them as girls already. They will be pullets. All 12. Stewart is in dire need of some women!

I don't know if Quasi can keep him happy by herself...

Now Kathy, I made a promise that I wouldn't get anymore eggs/chicks/birds until 2011. My last hatch is due June 1st and that's it for me this year!

I've got a lot of babies to grow up and then sort through and decide who I'm keeping. Once I've got my breeding flocks established and my laying flock to the numbers that I want then I'll recount and figure out what I need to add to my flock (BBS or Lav Orps...) then next January I'll start hitting folks up again for eggs. Or chicks.

I think I might buy myself a Brinsea for Christmas though, it'll be interesting to see the differences in hatch rates between the two different incubators.

Hey all.....late here in LA, but back to "hotlanta" tomorrow.

Landon called me tonight and we have ANOTHER broody hen....one of my blue rock girls from Halo. Anybody need a few broody "rocks"???

Sugar, my lightly marked Del girl is stil sitting tight on her clutch. We'll see what kind of mama she is about Wednesday of next week

Talk to you later

Scott, I'll take a broody off your hands! My Buff Orp that was showing signs of broodyness disappeared last month, I haven't seen or heard anything from her since the beginning of April.

She was the only broody I've ever (almost) had. But that would be breaking my "no more chickens until 2011" rule...

Say hello to my first Bill Braden Del, she's sleeping soundly in the bator now after pipping, zipping and hatching in only a few hours.

Welcome to the world!

Here's my broody mama (black cochin) today .... with her 6 Delaware chicks (all girls, of course). One is hiding.

Mine don't hardly ever crow. They are actually very quiet. I dunno, maybe later? Mine are 6 months old.

Roosters are not in great demand, but you are offering trios, and I think you are asking a fair price for nice looking stock. Good luck with it. Your pictures are wonderful.

Kathy those babies are so cute! I love the little yellow fuzz butts. I fall in love with this breed all over again every time I see pictures of chicks. Are those grandbabies from Cyn's stock?

Here's another pic of the minutes old chick, she's all the way out of the egg now, she rolled over on her back and had the straightest little toes I've ever seen. I'm so glad that she appears healthy so far! I really think the cabinet shelf stuff is a good idea.
