Oh my gosh! I might just have taken you up on that Serrin! It was Freeeeeezing! I had so many layers on I could barely move. I wanted to get back Sunday but with the 20-35 mile an hour winds...no way.

It was 43 degrees in the a.m. and tag that with 65 MPH and it is cold!

Ah it was beautiful.

There's always next summer Germaine. You just give a holler and I'll make sure the fridge is fully loaded and ready for ya. Oh! Look! We can even have farm fresh eggs to enjoy!!!

Another dozen today. Help me! Somebody please! Help ME! I'm up to my eyeballs in eggs! Good Grief! Never thought I'd live to see the day when I'd have a dozen a day!

But I digress...............

That is a very nice ride Germaine. Which model is that? It looks like it's just small enough that even I could handle it. I'm sort of on the short side you see. All of 5 foot nothing if I really really stretch!

*sigh* I'd give my eyeteeth to have something big enough to take out on the freeways, but small enough for me to handle with confidence. You go girl!!!

To get this thread back to Delawares, here is a pic of Isaac and Maxie. Maxie has a nice comb, but she has almost no color on her at all.

Maxie does have a very nice comb. It is very even. Hey remember if you ever want to give your Del girls up, I am ready and willing!
Did you tell Ike what nice grand kids he has over here in NC?

He's snoozing away or I would go tell him right now! After what Walt has been telling us, really, Maxie should be perfect for breeding to Isaac with his very dark tail color, right?

Beth, if I do decide they must live elsewhere, you shall have them. Georgie is super friendly/annoying, Maxie is LOUD, and Ellie is sweet, friendly, but not insistent most of the time. They are really fabulous layers, though Ellie and Georgie lay more each week than Maxie. Maxie's eggs are very round/broad and almost white.

Wow! You weren't kidding when you say she has almost no color, were you? I really had to look for it! That should make her the perfect candidate to cross with Ike. How old is Maxie? Is she past that point where the next molt should see her developing more color? She sure has a nice form.

Maxie has gone through her first molt already. They were a year old in February.
