Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

You missed deciding what "founding members" are, and who, and squabbling about whether to do that or "credits", and discussion on whether or not to reword the SOP for the Del into easier terminology with pics, which was very adamantly opposed. The discussion about the SOP being used, and APA guy fussing about it. Missed some doling out of a to do list, and some complaints about some not doing their jobs. You missed a bunch of stuff, and then again...not much of nothing

You missed the discussion about topics for the forum. That's about it really.

Having been there I think the E.R. sounds "funner."

It was pretty confusing and hard to keep up at times.

I DO hope you are okay, and it was nothing serious!

Ok so I haven't been here in awhile. I get sick and sometimes tired. Family says I'm always on the "chicken chat forum". So what! There's lots of stress here anyhow, but then that's just me.

Anyhow this meeting is this something I should know about? I only ask due to the reference to the "APA guy" comment. Whats with the "founding members"? I've posted around the forum and got no hits but I'll try again. Has anyone been to a ALBC conference?

As far as Dels go, I notice some awfully dark tails in some of the pic and I have two youngins' that have dark tails too. Not the barring I expect. Granted they are young but Georgia boys tail is nicely barred. Like the old guy Nick. Is there something I should know about these dark tails? The youngin's are Nicks sons.

Gotta go, no rest for the wicked.

I live right on the coast of southern Oregon. It rarely gets down into the mid to low 20's here (though this is supposed to be a brutal Winter this year). They should be (in theory) feathered out pretty well by that time ;-)

Rancher~Starting a new club, thus the fussing and stuff

You know how the beginnings of things/sorting out boring details can be

That was the meeting. You should join up while it's FREE! The dark tails, are a trait that needs to be bred out. Those dark tails could be coming from the hens side too. here's the link to the NEW Delaware Poultry club http://www.delawarepoultryclub.org There are like 45 members so far. it'll be great once the kinks are worked out

I've been raising them for 3 years. Most folks are pretty new to Delaware's, as they are just making a comeback.

Stewart is gone folks, I just dropped him off with a lovely family who lives in San Jose this morning. I hope to hatch a cockerel better suited for my breeding program next year, until then I've only got my young Delaware hens to keep me company. I'll be anxiously marking off dates on the calendar until the first day of spring.

Tim, my buddy, my friend. I have posted for over a month on all the Delaware threads about the new club. I was wondering why you weren't joining. The site is off to a good start, and we have actually gotten a lot done. Check it out. PM me if you have questions. It would be good to have you on board!

Jeremy- I liked Stewart, I am glad you found him a good home. He was a good boy and deserves a nice home if you can't use him.
