Oh yes, mine is really no longer red, as when I was young. I guess we redheads don't go grey ... we just get rusty!

Now everyone thinks I'm a blonde ... which strikes me funny!

We are all gonna have to incorporate this red hair thing into the Delaware crede!

Gonna have to go start a thread .... to post your picture if you are a red head! Back when I was a kid, it seems it was rare, to have red hair. Everyone always touching my hair, and so forth. Toooo funny!

Yeah funny story about past redhead episodes. I was in Baton Rouge working once and the boss-man finally had enough and told me don't come back monday unless I got a hair cut. Anyway I had to just go into an unknown shop and get one as I was nowhere near home. Well just so happens it was two ladies that worked there, and as soon as I sat my self down one of them went to digging in my hair like she was looking for mites or something. The other one asked her what she was doing and she said checking my roots to see what color my hair was . The other lady said," no it's real, they don't make that color in a bottle". And you are right it seems everybody wants to touch all the time as it is fine, fine, like baby hair fine. Anyway sorry 'bout BS/ing on here about my plumage now we can get back to the matter at hand , huh

OH my goodness, I can't keep up with you all!!!!!!

I've been busy this week but all I've been able to do is read, I just didn't have time to post with all your writing!

Beth, I'm so sorry about your Oreo.

Cyn, I'm waiting to hear on Kira.

Everyone the pictures have been great!

Helen laid an egg that was 77oz!!!!!!That comes in on the Jumbo side. I don't think it's a double yolker, doesn't seem to candle two yolks but we will know when we eat it.

Biden is going crazy! If he sees a hen he mates with her. If he sees another rooster mate a hen he mates her. If another rooster sees him mate with a hen he mates her and then Biden feels he's got to mark his territory again. The hens are getting very FAST. Egg production is still sporadic. One day we'll get five, then none for 2 days etc.

Jeez, this thread can really run away from you if you don't keep up with it.

Oh, this is crazy- I was born with enough red in my hair for my my mother to be very hopeful, as there was red hair in the family- but it changed to blonde, then an ashy brown, so in my late thirties, I started tinting it. . . . . . .You got it! TA-DA!!! AUBURN!!!!!! I thin red hair is SO beautiful. I just started letting grow out grey a few years ago, but I think Cetawin and I fall in the qualifying link.

Delgirl- I agree, all the pics lately have been awesome and I am getting excited for my kids to grow up. Cynthia, you were right on about the molt. DH and I went to a play to try to cheer up after losing Oreo (thank you, again, everyone, for all your hugs, etc.) and when we got home.I decided to freshen the water once more in the brooder, and it was COVERED in feathers. Now I am excited to see if and how much their markings change!

AND the count is now official- I have 8 Del pullets, 6 Del roos and of course Ultrasuede. I am also fairly sure about culling two roos- they have brown beaks and 6-7 comb points. Plus they are the two where I am questioning their hackle feather markings - they look way more laced than barred.
So unless the other four fall apart totally, these two boys will be looking for new homes.

LANEY!!! Congrats on Helen's egg - that is really great! Take Biden off the viagra and he will be OK! Your poor hens!

Catdaddyfro- as in saving for a toupee? Don't worry, balding men are very sexy- my DH has lost his top, and he is still gorgeous!

Thor will just fall in love with you all over again, Cetawin, don't worry!

Cyn, how is Kira this morning? Livvie?

GOOD MORNING TO ALL YOU DELLIE LOVERS!!!!

Kira seems a bit better today. She came out of the coop energetically, ate with everyone else. Later on, when DH was de-pooping the main coop, she jumped up on a bar that does down the back wall, and chattered and visited with him, which is actually unusual for her when she's completely fine. We'll do a couple more days of penicillin to finish the course, but I hope this is a good thing. Yesterday, in addition to her injection, she got a syringe of mineral oil squirted up the egg chute, just in case it might help something come out, be it a whole egg or broken shell or whatever.

Livvie is the same. She again spent time on the nest yesterday without producing an egg.
