Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Cynthia,
Good for Kira!!! Maybe she turned over a new leaf while getting better- does the damp bother Livvie as well as the cold?

Things are melting here, and the run will be done next weekend and then my little Dellie Darlings can get used to their coop and finally try going outside!

Good Morning Dellie owned humans!

Glad everyone is doing well this morning.

Cyn, glad Kira is acting better and Livvie is still with us and poufy headed.

Dellies and Thor just had multigrain blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and grapes...they are happy stuffed birdies.

I can't remember exactly. I could look at a close up of one of the boys I had and see what color his eyes were at that time.

Ike about 12 weeks old with greenish eyes:

His brother, a couple weeks later at 14 weeks--I think you can see the color change to reddish:

Cynthia, thanks! It sure does look different on the 14 week picture. I'll start looking in another month or so for the change.
I went out and grabbed a few babies and did some lap sitting. I figure if I do three or four a day, they will all get a turn and get used to it. Buckshot and Cora are already cool with it. Ultrasuede wants NOTHING to do with leaving the brooder. He now Brrrrreeeeeeeeppss and runs for it if he thinks I am going to do more than scratch his chest.
Thor - you better mind speak your brother some manners!

So is Thor an odd duck, or does Cetawin just have some kind of Orp magic? Oh well, the Dels sure make up for it.
Cynthia, all of them have that good leg color that Buckshot has at this point. And BiG feet- even the hens. They can grab on and hold tight!

Well he does feel the love but until he was about 12 weeks old...when you picked him up to bring him out he screamed like he was being tortured! Athena did the same but louder until she was 16 weeks old! As chicks, picking them up meant someone else in the house was running out to the brooder area to see who was being killed. They were HUGE drama queen and Drama King. They are slow to warm to handling truly they are...but once they get used to it and really build trust, they settle down and are more pleasant. The roos I think will always be more friendly once they trust than the women. They women just want you to feed them, water them, clean their coop and go away. hahahahaha

The Dellies from day 1 were all over me, constantly especially Cannonball, Fattie (a Kira baby) has been a biter since she was a day old...that has not changed at almost 19 weeks old. *sigh*

Beth, I have wanted a Suede baby for almost 2 years now LOL And to get a big tank of a boy just tickled me pink. the only thing that would have made me happier...if my one egg that started well from Skye had thrived and hatched. That would have been the topping on the cake for me because she was so so beautiful and passed not long after. About them hanging on with their feet...I have a cut on my ring finger and the middle finger... one from Thor's nails and one from Fattie's.
