Had chickens for years but quit for a few and just got back in last year. Last year was the first time I bought dels and the bug bit hard. I really do enjoy spending time with them. I have some eggs in the bator now ( 1st hatch ) hope it goes well. Hard to imagine the offspring could be any better than the parents though. I have 6 Dels, 5 Barred Rocks, 4 New Hamps, & 4 Jersey Giants. Appreciate you asking, Thanks.

I too had gotten out of birds for a few years, and got Delawares this time around. how could you not just love this breed!

Well I'm out on the red head bit, it's dark brown and past my knees. I thought about getting some wigs just to mess with people. lol
I took some bread and raisins out to my flock tonight. I don't know if it's the small number of birds or what. but they are always calm, and there is hardly any food stealing. this bunch of birds is so unlike any I've had befor. and Sweetheart is comeing out of her shell now.

E.G. Glayer- WELCOME! - that is a darn clever name - your roo looks nice and chunky and your hens have great tail black - they really are a friendly bird, aren't they? How well are your hens laying?

CrazyLady- I am so glad Sweetheart is feeling better - more like herself. You must feel really relieved.

Cetawin- It's good to know it took a while with Thor, I have been feeling like a rejected suitor! This silly Ultrasuede is getting SO beautiful - and he looks at me with those pretty eyes while I am talking to him, but dang! Well, I will be patient- what's that saying about old age and treachery winning out over youth and something or other? Treachery, of course, means bribing with treats. Does that make it treatchery?

So we have SDWD, Delgirl- it means Society for Delaware World Domination. We have a flag. There are about 20 people who have been on this thread. (I am including Cheyenne in the count, since we talk about her so much!) Now we just need a T-shirt and a convention site!

Shelley, I'm happy you also have some of Janet's stock because you can take some of the heat off of me! I may not continue to actively breed them. Ike and his ladies are in the main flock and I have to be on the spot to collect sometimes, though generally, the Del eggs are a bit different than almost all the others in that flock, except my Lt. Brahma's. Hers are very, very similar. If anyone gets a feather legged, pea combed Delaware, they'll know why, LOL! And dang, the plumage color is also similar on the Dels and Brahmas.

Anyone want whipped cream on their coffee?
