Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Well, you've met me, Scott. There's no "babe" here anymore, LOL. That was probably 25 years ago, that pic, though I sure didn't think of myself as a babe even then.

Ladyhawk, CB's soft egg may just be that she's a new layer. You can add calcium for her now, though. Sometimes, I just dissolve one of my calcium tablets into some oatmeal for a good calcium punch.

Always fun (and sometimes educational) as we relive our past! SOOOOO many things I did 20+ yrs ago that I don't do any more either. I do think its pretty neat though to see "real history" and how we all change throughout our lifetimes.

I'm thinking you, Laney, Beth, Rustyswoman all need to don full leathers, put a chicken in the sidecar and head to "Bike Week" ....road trip!!!

Yard full o' rocks :

Gosh....I thought we were a bit crazy about our Delaware birds. Check out this auction that just ended for 8 (yes eight!!) Polish eggs....they went for $22 a piece!!!! And they were fertility TEST eggs at that. I sure hope someone gets a great hatch rate from those. The birds are stunning, however. WOW NICE

Sure hope the winner gets several chicks to hatch out of those TEST eggs...otherwise, that sure is a lot of money wasted.

There's not even a guarantee that ANY of them are fertile.

LOL I could put it in the saddlebag? Now wouldn't that be a sight? OHhhh!!! I just pictured my Del Roo with a bandana around his head, and now I can't stop laughing!

I make my husband his dew rags- I bet I could just scale the size down a bit. . . . .Buckshot and Luke would look dashing!

As to Biker Babes, I am also long past that, but how SWEET of you, Scott. . . . Biker Broads would fit better for me, especially considering the condition of what musicians gracefully call my piano bench butt.

There is sunshine today and the Dellies are out playing!

Just checkin' in. Hope all is well with each of you. It is to be in the high 50s here today, and I have more work to get done. I put up 100 feet of fence yesterday. Today I hope to get a few pop doors completed. I HAVE to get those done, so these youngsters can get outside!

I have my oldest Dellies in a small coop with a good sized run, and they just love it. I love watching them. They would much prefer to be at my side, helping with the construction work though! They are so nosey. They stretch their necks to catch a peek around the corner to watch me. What a site those funny birds are!

You all have a great day!

Those Delawares are the first ones to realize when something is NOT going to eat them. Case in point-the rototiller Tom was using today to plow a garden area. Everyone ran to the other side of the pen, then one by one, the Del ladies sauntered back over close to where the machinery was roaring away. Nobody else dared to go back till that infernal machine was gone.

Isaac has three Buff Orps, two Brahmas and sweet little Riley and they aren't stressed over him and he's being sweet and flirty and gentle with them, too. Seems as if it may work out okay as long as they don't start in on his comb and wattles.

Yay for relocating Isaac and him not being eaten alive!

Boo for paying $22 per egg for test Polish.
