Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Hey Dellie People!!! It has been a while since I last visited y'all, but I have had a lot going on - computer issues, hatched 11 new Del babies (pics to follow) and to top it all off, I have been kind of sick - just found out that I have my own little chick on the way in the mommy-bator!!!

However, I also have a pretty big decision to make as it seems that I have to find new homes for some of my roos and I need some advice on which ones I should keep and which ones to let go and would love to hear you thoughts!!

Well, Norbit's color seems best of that bunch, followed by Blue. Really, that bunch must have grabbed hold of Sandhill's part of my lines--they're not the best markings overall. They generally seem like Kathy's first batch of boys she hatched from me. Her second batch was much better on the markings. How is Norbit's size and comb? The first one's comb is really nice, but his markings are really weird! Fabulous leg color, though!

Congrats on your little bundle!

Cyn, Norbit is about middle of the road on size - he is not the biggest (that goes to Big Blue) but he is not the smallest (Little Purple). He has a nice straight comb with 6 points. Blue looks like he has 7 points but has a thick body.

They say start with body type and then breed for combs and markings. The first boy has a nice comb, but not a keeper in my book due to the really weird markings. Amazing, those genes! They can go either way and combine to be fabulous or just so-so. Was trying to look at Blue's comb. Looks like six points. Even Ike has a small sort of half point that makes his six. He is throwing many five pointed babies, though. Norbit and Blue are your best ones for sure. Let me see if I can send the link to Janet and get her take on these.

Green has a very nice comb and looks chunky, but can't tell if he has any good barring in the tail in the pic. Gosh, did you get any pullets?

Thanks so much Cyn!! I appreciate your input!!

No pullets this time - all the pics posted are of the whole flock - Although Nicola and I have been debating about White (originally Pearl)....I want this one to be a pullet and keep looking at the body, but hubby says the comb is a dead give away to a roo

I can see why you're confused about that White! Has a boyish look, but more girly markings. Had one in Isaac's batch who was like that. Comb popped up suddenly one day and his markings weren't quite right, so I ended up with one less girl than I thought I had the day before.

Norbit, Blue and Green are my pics. They are handsome! I love the color in them.

I have some Del girl pics but I will post tomorrow as to not hog in on your roo question
