Guess what! I have been watching 2 of my hens for 2 days, and they have been on the nest at roost time, both last night and tonight (as well as all day, even when I boot them off a few times!). I believe I have 2 broodies. They are currently sitting on air. They are both Cochins. One is absolutely a huge girl. Hmmmm, gee, what am I to do?

Well, obviously you cannot be responsible for a broody; after all, it's her hormones out of whack, right? So, it wouldn't be cheating to give them a few eggs each, now would it? You're not actually incubating.

Uh, oh, I think I just pushed Kathy off the wagon, LOL. Nugget is on Day 8 as of Sunday. Will candle Monday or Tuesday to toss infertiles or blood rings, then settle in for the long haul.
