Problem is ..... I have no eggs that I really want hatched currently! If I thought it would work, I would put these eggs/chicks under them that are pipping right this moment! The BRs that I thought would hatch last night, my last batch of hatching!

Hi, I bought 50 Delaware chicks this spring (hatchery stock) and would like to learn more about breeders vs. hatchery stock... I'm currently on about page 7 or 8 of this thread... and interesting stuff!
However, should I now go elsewhere, seeing as this thread has this turned into the Black-Silkie-Broody-incubation-jewelry-marriage-24k-golden-egg-thread?

(Sorry, just don't want to wade through 489 pages of "chat"...)

Pacs man, start reading and you will learn lots about Dellies. This is a great group of people to learn from. I don't post much, but this seemed the occasion. There is some friendly banter, but lots and lots of good info about Dellies. Allso, any questions asked about them are very quickly answered.

Kathy, as for the broodies, I think it truly might damage their psyche for life if you do not allow them to do what they were designed to do............And do you not have any fertilized eggs? After all, more chicks are more chicks no matter how you look at them.

Pacsman, this thread seems to be as much about growing friendships as it is Dellies, there is some chat, but there is great info on here, so stick with us!!! Like Kathy said a while back, it's sort of like home.
