Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Oh yes...your RAM has a big affect on it Kathy. If ou do not have enough to operate the processing going on....there are problems and also if you do not have good disk space, it can cause problems because of all of the cookies and temp internet files...

Do you clean your cookies and internet files periodically? on IE you can do it really fast by clicking tools at the top of the browser, then internet options and select to delete history....select cookies and temp internet files....deselect history if you want to keep it.

WAIT!!! That is how my trouble started! I deleted temp files and it changed some settings. And I have no idea which ones so I keep pushing buttons and then it yells at me and tells me I am not secure. So I change it back and start over. Sigh....

Cetawin, if you have AT&T for your phone service, start bugging them to run DSL in your area. Get your neighbors to bug them - bug them enough and it might happen, especially if you are not too far out, and since they should be pushing their TV/internet/cell package.

Morning all....everything is great in NW Ga "dellie world"....hoping my poor little pullet with the sore rear end is ok today!! WOW what an egg that was, huh?

I have a goofy question....any of you experience this or know what it is?

I have a Black Rock hen (that I hatched and raised) that flares her wings out and puffs up the feathers on her neck every time I get near her. Now, she's not the "touchy feely type" like the Dels, but I can always scratch her when she's on the roost or when she's in the nest box. All of the sudden (for like the past week) she has turned into "super-winch".

She's the only one doing this....all the other girls come running to me like always

Anyone got any ideas?

Have a great Tuesday all!!

Scott

Cyn...are rocks known to go broody?

How will I know for sure? When she sits on a nest and doesn't roost at night?

If that's happenin' at the "Polish Poultry Palace" it will be a first time for us! Jennifer wants to see a mama raise her own babies so this could be fun.

I have checked her over completely...no bugs, she's eating/pooping/laying/scratching'dustin'....all that stuff. Just acts a bit cranky...like PMS perhaps

I really dont have a "good broody place" like you and Tom do separated from the rest. I have plenty of room in the coop to put a LARGE dog kennel (for dogs over 100lbs) in there so she would be protected....if I did that and perhaps covered it on the side so the "others" can't see in you think that would work?

You could do that. I've never had one raise chicks within the flock, so can't tell you what to expect there. If you put wire or cardboard around the large openings (if this is a wire kennel) so the chicks can't get out into the main area, that should work well, I'd think. Then she can stay in there with her babies for a few days before you let her into the flock.

My gracious THANKS Cyn. Not really expecting this so of course, typical male, NOT PREPARED

Guess I will work on that kennel later and get some cardboard or maybe some scrap luan to enclose the sides and front door.

Do you think if I left the top along (just the wire) that the others would climb all over it and bother the fool out of her? Or would she "be nasty" to them and run them off?
