My SOP is in color and cost way more than 55.00- where on earth did you find one for 55, Lotsa?

Well isn't the new one coming out soon? Amazon of course they still have them too(2001)..yeah my old one cost me more than 100.00

Let me see if I can address everyones comments.

Lotsa: Your right that it would be worth the money. I did find old copies on line. Even one from 1953, the year after Delawares were admitted to the APA. One copy is less than the $55 for the new standard listed on the APA web page. They apparently have a black and white copy but are out at this time.

If as was stated the standard hasn't changed then it really should not matter which is I get. I would however like to see what the standard originally was in 1952.

If you are interested there are copies out there that date earlier than 1952.

Well have a dry day, while I still have to wear knee high boots to feed the chickens. Do you have any idea how strange it looks to see this old guy in green wellies and his bathrobe going across the yard to let the chickens out in the morning? It's a wonder them hens lay any eggs at all. Poor rooster almost choked on his crow. No wonder I don't see any preds they all died laughing. Hey whatever works right?

Rancher - plant tomatoes- they love lots of water.

I think we are in for some rain today, too. My cheerful Dellie note of the day- I got 8 eggs from 8 Del hens yesterday. Bad Dellie note- Lizzie kept lifting her right foot and staring at it like it had said insulting things to her this morning- she is still not mingling a lot with the others, and wanted to go into the other pen, where her cat carrier is, to lay. I am still thinking I will make her her own little pen and get her a calm, laid back friend from somewhere or other. I am giving it to the end of the week, and if she is still not fully worked into the group, I am going to let her be happy on her own. She was amazingly fine with it while I kept her on the porch.

Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled. Any body have any thoughts or comments on this? She is a good little layer, so I want to keep her.

Poor Lizzie must be feeling some pain in her leg. Her and me, both! Leg injuries seem to take ages to heal and then cause pain for much longer after the healing is complete. Maybe a rooster-less pen would be best for her.

Cynthia, I agree. I think Lizzie would prefer the convent. *sigh* More building- gee, ain't life hard!!!

Tim and JoAnn- naw- I do it all the time- slip out of bed in my DH's Tshirt, slip into the chicken boots and go let everyone out. Then back inside for coffee!!!!
