Great story! When is somebody ever going to make a movie with chicken actors (as opposed to dogs, cats, or pigs)? Sigh!

It hasn't snowed here since 1989 so I have no coversation to offer, LOL.

I promised my lady friends some eggs. I am going to walk over there on Saturday and crash their party and give them a dozen.

By popular demand...Big Bertha! I have more photos at home but this is the only one I have at work.

And here she is (with the BR twins) when she was a baby. Giving me the stink eye aka mind control....ha ha

Big Bertha definitely deserves her name. Very pretty chicken!

I know, right? We're all whining about the cold (it's 57 degrees today, no wind).

Big Bertha is actually the one I had problems with a while back, I thought she had Mareks but I think she's just too fat, ahem....fluffy, and her little legs can't hold up all the woman that she is.

Bertha is gorgeous! So is the little girl!

Well the "bad boy" survived the night but he is trying to fight with the welsummer roo thru the door between them. He is acting very crazy. The BA girl is doing well.

He may just be feeling his oats- my Del roo would LOVE to get at any of my other roos. He is young and studly and ready for action.

I have a rooster that is "pure permanent oats" (not a Del

). I separated him at 6 weeks because he was acting crazy. After 4 weeks of separation it took him only a few seconds to viciously attack everything with feathers in sight. Roos and Chickens. That was my first and last try at mercy. He is now just going to put on enough weight to be a good meal. But he is gorgous

. He must have some fighting genes...
