Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Yes! You are quite a bit farther than 3 hours from me! Actually, google says you are 8 hours from me! It looks like I may have to resort to hatching eggs....which I have no experience with. But I am willing to give it a go! Thanks for the response!

Out of my five Del chicks, only one has a large comb, and none of the others are pink at all. It is the only one that will out up a fight, and the others sleep away from it. Oh gosh... Going to take some pics... Do you think that I coil have 4/5 pullets??

Cyn, what are your thoughts on that little Del/EE cross as to gender? I'm thinking that little peeper looks awfully girly to me! Question #2: If that does turn out to be a pullet, what'ya gonna do with it? Goodness me, but that little hooligan does look a lot like Lisette and Cosette did at that age! Hint! Hint! Hint!

And, just in case you're not into taking hints today, I'll spell it out, point blank! If that's a pullet, I WANT IT!!!!

Well nuts! I can't even begin to compete with that request, even if I lived on the same mountain top with ya! RATS!!!

I gotta tell ya Cyn, if you have the ability to create more of these "Delaweggers", as Beth so aptly named them, then you should. They really do make a wonderful bird. They have the sweet and gentle nature of the EE's, coupled with the adventuresome, will not be denied, gung ho attitudes of Del's. And the icing on the cake is when they lay that beautiful olive egg. Cosette's is closer to a blue than olive, but beautiful nonetheless. I wish I had the birds in my flock to create a Delawegger line. I'd most certainly do so!

This one, however, will probably lay a brown egg. Unlike Cosette, it has a single comb. Time will tell. It's sister Hedwig was going to be a green egg layer but she had a pea comb, not single. The blue egg gene and the pea comb have some relation. It's possible that a single combed bird would lay a green egg, but it's not the norm.

Amy, I hatched this baby specifically for LH, but if you were closer, I'd gladly hatch you some out of Isaac and June.

Or, Isaac and any of the BBS Ameraucanas.

I am all for breeding Delaweggers, especially ones that would lay a blue or green egg- a side market or something. They are SO darn cute.
