Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Cool. They are quite a bit further along than mine. Do you know how old they were in those pictures?
How many Hens/Roos did you end up with from him?

About 2 1/2 weeks old I think. I have no idea on the sexing yet. They were hatched the first week of April.

The 18 that I have from him were hatched on the 10th (they turned 2 weeks yesterday).

what do you guys think?? I want to get a roo to breed with them, since I lost the one I had. Would either (or both) of these girls be good for breeding?

The Delawares that I got from Cyn are now 12 weeks old, and approaching 13 wks on Friday. Can't wait to see how these feather out in the end. Two are up for sale, a pair... They are not ideal for breeding.

BTW - Rexx is now a father! Three of the chicks in this pic - I think the three in front - are his. The Speckled Sussex brooded them, but the eggs came from various other hens - not even really sure which ones, except the blue egg - one of these is a Delawegger!

OH what a sweet picture! Thanks for sharing it with us!

We love our Deleweggers! Can you tell what kind of comb yours has? I am excited for you and hope you post pictures as they all grow!

Congratulations!

I think I somehow got one too.... Seems Big Guy got ahold of one of the EE girls on a free range day and I've got a perfect Delaware color pattern, peacombed and muff/bearded pullets in the grow out pen

Possibly a few more in there too

Top it off with the telltale Delaware personality and voila!

Exactly! Pea combed, blue egg gene birds with Delaware personality! PERFECT ! !

Can anyone post a few pics for me of some Delawares that are close to the breed's standards? I'm raising up some Delawares from William Morrow and will soon have some from Paul Harter, and eggs coming from Claudia Gore. I'm really excited to work with this breed, and have seen some beautiful birds in the past, which that combined with their good temperaments lead me to choose them to have on the farm. I'm not breeding for show, but would like to have a flock that is a nice combination of being a good layer, hardy, but also is close to what the breed standard calls for. But I've seen lots of variations, so just wanted to know if someone could point me to some nice pictures.

Thanks!

Kathyinmo~ The babies all made it safe and sound!!!!! They are beautiful and didn't need any settling in time at all...once their feet hit the brooder floor they were off and running and creating all sorts of super sweet Delaware havoc that only the Del's can do! DH talked to them all the way home...now talk about sweet!!!

Thank you VERY VERY much!!
