Kathy I think you started a trend!!!
I think I somehow got one too.... Seems Big Guy got ahold of one of the EE girls on a free range day and I've got a perfect Delaware color pattern, peacombed and muff/bearded pullets in the grow out pen
Possibly a few more in there too
Top it off with the telltale Delaware personality and voila!
Exactly! Pea combed, blue egg gene birds with Delaware personality! PERFECT ! !
I went out to the coop this morning to do my morning rituals of feeding and watering and I just happened to glance over to my broody game hens box to see whats up and lo and behold what'd I see 10 little Delawegger pip squeeks staring at me like, and just who are you?
Yep you women on this Delaware thread have made a softy outta me yet, I'm one of those guys that would
never ever have anything of the such like EE's, Silkies(still holding out on those though), ect...you know things I did'nt really even think to be chicken like animals. Well a couple of months ago my buddy was going off to work a shutdown for some-time and gave me about 20 something chickens. In that group were pro reds, pro red/brn. leghorn X's, a Brown Leghorn hen, a black Cochin hen and guess what, yep and EE hen so I took them all and really started liking that EE hen (talk about different) gave her a name(Ugly Betty) because she's ugly to me. Well I got into all the hoopla about the Delaweggers on here and decided I should have some to see how/what the are or turn out to be and there ya go ol' catdaddy's old hard-@$$ is getting a litlle bit soft in my middle age life, I reckon. Will try to get some pics posted of them, still have a few more eggs to go with the hatch, so maybe tomorrow or so I'll get some done up.
