Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I had some one here who wanted hens but would't pay what I was asking for newbie hens laying large egg. I'm not surprised my girls are great layers, though I will confess to working to get them bigger. I haven't offered eggs but if anyone wants to drop me a line I'll see what I can send. I'll need time to get the packing stuff together.

I've got a hen sitting on 10 eggs and only because she's a Del. Other wise I'd break her if I could.

Got a qustion, my oldest rooster is 4 months & 4 days old & has staretd crowing already, how old was yalls when they started ?

About 12- to 16 weeks. I have had a few start ridiculously early- the kazoo chorus at about 12 weeks. But 16 is pretty normal for me.

I'd have to go back and check the thread again, but I believe mine started making an attempt to crow at around 9 1/2 weeks old....which I thought was awfully young!

Isaac and his brothers, all except for one, began crowing at 9 weeks old. I called them The Kazoo Band, LOL.

Here is Isaac's latest youngster, hatched under my best broody hen yesterday. Even if it's a pullet, when Nugget lets her go, will most likely be selling her:
