I sure wouldn't consider it a punishment. My hens would coo, and purr me to sleep.
Moreover, as long as I'm not sleeping directly undernieth them. That would be bad!

We built ours a couple years ago when we first got pullets. I’d love to be able to add on to it, but I’m limited really bad for space (city bylaws). It’s served it’s purpose well though, and kids always love it. These are when we first built it. That grass never lasted, as you can see by the Halloween pic just a couple months after haha

When we first built out first coop there were no trees and there was a lot of grass. Now many years later we have trees in each pen but no grass.

This was a one day hurry up. The bf did a Great job modifying an unused doghouse we had.
