Show Off Your Games!

the closest thing from a spangle would be whitehackle. I think Is either sweater, radio, whitehackle cross with one of this two, but not sure.!
I'm new to all the gamefowl thing and was just trying to sharpen my gamefowl I.D skills, looks like I have a lot to learn.

Speaking of spangled GF, what color do you think would come out of breeding a law gray cock to a spangled hen?

Kind spangle with most grey on it. Not very pretty to me. But you might like it. But if you cross grey hen with red (hatch, sweater. For example.) you'll get grey with just a little red on wings. Those i do like. Buy the gamecock magazine. Steal grit and any gamefowl magazines to learn more about them.!

Thanks, will look for magazines. The reason I wanted to know is that grey hens look rather plain to me, but I like the cocks. I like spangled hens better than the cocks, so I was going to get a grey cock and a spangled hen or two.

Well i really don't think you're going to get the results you want with that trio. But yes they will look a pretty trio. Good luck if you have any questions I will happy to help You. I used to have a lot of gamefowl. Not any more only a few just to appreciate their beauty.!

I wasn't planning on breeding them, partly because frankly, I don't have the room to keep multiple cocks separated. I just want them for their beautiful plumage and because I've heard that the hens' broodiness is on par with silkies. Hopefully I have better luck with getting a broody GF because I have 2 adult silkie hens who have never gone broody. I want to use them to incubate pheasant eggs, but I've had to use the incubator and one other mixed bantam hen that goes broody.

OK Good idea this type of hens get broody fast usually after their 10 to 12th egg. ( wich is 2 to 3 weeks). Not all of them but mos most of them. I also keep some hens to incubate eggs.

Yes their mine. The rooster my brother gave it to me from a friend of him. He saw the wing band from slick lizard and that's why he got it for me. But i really don't know what it is. And the pullet i bought it straight from slick lizard.
Nice pair of birds .

Are you saying the cock came from slick lizard but is not sweater ?

Thanks
