I only had one blue pullet that I thought was going to be spurred, but my neighbor's dog ended that...I tried to send you some but noooooo.....
I always enjoyed watching my grandfather's "reds" as he called them. I was just a little kid and too young to appreciate them more.nice! Cool how they're a momento from days gone by
I had a hen with 1 spur for 2 years and 1 day she decided to grow out her second spur. wierdCome on, rub it in why don't you! lol I have been trying to learn a little about the genetics of spurred hens. Some have two, most none and some one. From what I have seen, the one is usually on the left leg. Does that have to do with the functional ovary in hens? I have seen a couple of mini's with one good spur on the left leg and a "soft" enlarged spur "nub" on the right.
