Well, I sort of promised photos, but. . . I don't have any. Can't find my camera for the first time in my life. And that is greatly upsetting me. . .
BUT, I did get my Shamo pair! These are my first gamefowl, and I really have to say - They're far more confident, friendly, and intelligent than any other shipped bird I've gotten. Right out of the box, the stag starts dancing for the hen, then chooks up a storm about some peice of food, and allows us to do just about anything with him. The pullet is a little more shy, but still, I can touch her and show her off and she doesn't object much. They have slight runny noses and seem to shiver though, so I have a couple heat lamps set up in their coop.
I'm sure it is a shocking difference between Southern California and Northwest Washington.
Oh, and I didn't have a ruler, but I tried figuratively measuring the stag from head to toe, and I believe he's 23 inches tall already, and he's only 4.5 months old. (I basically offered my fingers up high as if with food, and, well, got a very powerful bite)
