is clipper and claret a color or a breed? Sorry I am a little new to gamefowl I have only owned brazilian gut am thinking about getting more gamfowl. and I found an ad selling claret, clipper and toppie. Can someone please tell me.

They are breed names, they are both usually red fowl, I have pics of my Toppies back a few pages, mine are mostly Blue or Spangled. Lynn

Ditto on what Lynn said, they are a strain of American Game. Google "Ultimatefowl Poultry Wikipedia", go to breed histories/American game. There you will find most of your answers about the various strains at least history wise. I believe the last I checked there were 117 American Game strains added to the Wiki (some pages have more than one strain to a page though), there are definitely more than that but 117 is a lot. There are also other breeds to give a look over if you haven't found that page already.

Thanks. Yes, they are suposed to be Larry Carter Pumpkin Hulsey and another pumpkin blood from some breeder in Tennessee as I was told when I got the parents of this birds.
