The comb need not be touched. Later in life you might give attention to spurs as they make handling unpleasant.

I always recommend people keep spurs blunted/trimmed no matter what the breed. A spur wound to the leg is a nasty thing, with infection and lots of pain being very common. Have seen more concern for RIR sharp spurs then gamefowl in all actuality. Comb trimming is a matter of show standard and preference. Just realize that frostbite to a comb is very painful for a bird, to the point where it can effect fertility of the cock. A few seconds of pain dubbing, or days of pain from frostbite... up to the breeder.

Thats a very nice blend. Game to the core and a touch of strength

Thanks, I'm really proud of what I'm producing this year, so far all the stags I've hatched are game to the bone, I'm raising 19 up this year not including hens, can't complain so far. I also have pure hatch and pure greys, and now am working on 3 and 4 way Crosses.

What is peoples general experience with e-bay eggs? I'm not talking about hatchability, because I know that is a crap shoot whenever you ship them. I'm talking about them being what they are supposed to be. I would think that there are people out there trying to preserve the genetics, as well as those trying to make a buck. Is it better to go the Oak Ridge auction direction? I know it's better to get them in person, but finding the person that has what I want might take a lot of riding around and listening for roosters. I am mainly interested in the white legged Morgan Whitehackle, and I would also like either som Flarry Eye Greys, or some Koopmans. The missus wants some Punkins, but owing to their popular modes of availability, they are not quite as cool as they once seemed.
