The save a chick? Yeah that's a ripoff get the big yellow packet for cattle. A teaspoonish to a gal of water.

Yeah that stuff eats up the money. LOL, I couldn't believe it. Then someone was telling me you can give the babies gatoraid, as well as hard boiled egg. I have never used that before. But Normally my chickens take care of the babies I normally don't hatch them out. However the past 3 years I have started doing one bator right after the other.

I do not use supplements unless rearing chicks in brooder, the supplementation comes in the form of medicated chick starter to suppress cocci as the juveniles (4-5 weeks post-hatch) are transitioned to chicken tractor. I normally do not use brooders for games, rather most hen reared and I try to make so broods are free-ranged away from adults. I also try to keep hens separate from each other.

I normally hen hatch to but this year was late so I put some eggs in the bator. also the chicks I got from Gary cooper. the Purina game bird starter is 30% pro. and I don't think its medicated. I may go to just a 18-20% pro. medicated chick starter and a supplement of electros. and vitamin's . I think they may be getting to much protein

I have sibling chicks... two are kept by the mother hen and 7 are kept by me in a brooder.... so far the caged chicks are bigger despite the same age. I think its beacause the caged chicks get more food,.

I throw out plenty of food but the mother hen determines how long to stay eating... plus the mother eats the food too and then the sparrows eat up the left overs... so they dont get to eat again until I get home from work... whereas the caged chicks are eating all day.

I dont medicate... I prefer all natural.

Grower finisher for weight gain or game bird grower and some dope in the water ( vitamins electrolytes ) B-12 ( the shot ) will increase his appetite but may make his aggressive.

so I got some purerena mills chick starter today it's only 18% pro. and medicated I wish they had a 20 to 24% pro. medicated with a littlie more fat in it like game starter back the pro. down to only 24% and medicate it but o well. I just put a bucket of game starter to 50lbs of medicated chick starter in a 55 gal. barrel. also got some duravet vit./electrolyte. I did 5tsp to 5 gal. bucket dose that sound good?. got some dried meal worms for the chicks to them things are 55% pro. and they love em maybe I will eat so also and get big muscles lol
