Show Off Your Games!

well anytime you change feed anyway it could throw laying off for a little while. but I would not be concerned they will lay when they get ready

Could be it still being early in the year too, last year my hens started late but i know a few laid early then completely stopped again.. My bantam laid today though! Hoping she will start laying consistently and i'll have some pretty early hatches- usually doesn't kick off here until April or May.

Okay here are the Hens my brother bought me !! The lighter colored hen is a hatch and everytime she gets close she grabs and tries to take a plug out of me!!!!

What do you do about game chickens spurs? The 1+ yr game chicken we have now fought the very much old game chicken who may have been his father and bloodied him up really good. We rehomed the older chicken but still have the younger one. He tries to get at the other rooster (BR mix) through the fence. Need suggestions, spring is coming and I would like to let all of them free range somewhat at times. Thanks Deb

You can trim the spurs, maybe even remove them. But free ranging the barred rock will only have the option to run and stay away or fight, with games you'll have that problem which is why cocks are separated (and sometimes hens too!).

Cwc- great looking hens you got the roos to go with that hatch???

Dtchickens- I lost a old English game bird Rooster to my albany rooster through the fence!!!! You will never be able to keep you're game bird with that bb... You'll en up with only one roo mostlikely a game bird roo!!
