today he got killed by my jersey gaint rooster he got out of the pen I have no idea how I thought the grey would have killed him
Thank you that helps.I had not thought of using that. I was thinking to use 2x4 wire and attaching something like a tarp or canvas type covering pulled taught. I have to get that done this week. I appreciate your response.I keep it high enough that when they lower their heads to get at each other they then can't see each other. If you want ventilation to continue just use pegboard. It is available in most lumber yards (Home Depot, Lowes, 84 Lumber, Menards, etc....in 4' x 8' sheets. I don't know the price per sheet but it does help with ventilation from one pen to the other. If you get the 1/4th inch thick sheets with 1/4th inch holes that will give you more ventilation than the 1/8th inch sheets with the 1/8th inch holes. This works for me when I need it.
one thing. Go to tractor supply or co op and get a plastic owl. My hen Just like yours was caught by a hawk. Hawks are terrified of owls in the wild owls attack Hawks. I'd get an owl (or two. I have two and hadn't seen an owl in four months) you don't want little savannah coming up gone. Gosh I can't get over how cute she is it makes me miss my little penny :'(
What a handsome roo! Love his crowing poses!!
