Show Off Your Games!

I have no problem killing chickens (or any other animal) to eat, but if I can sale a rooster for $25, I can buy several whole fryers at the store with that money, and they taste a lot better then an old Game rooster.

Jungle I sent you a PM regarding Athiesm, but I think I misunderstood cull... which I took as kill. I looked it up and culling specifically refers to removing animals from breeding program, basially selective breeding.

I posted that message in haste and in anger. Sorry buddy.

Down with yellow leg chickens! jk

No worries friend. Some people do kill the birds they cull. Not me. I only kill out of necessity for food and survival.

On my smartphone now. I will reposnd to your PM when I get to a PC.

Amen to that
But I'm also like the good flavor of a fresh chickens. Lol

I do not like yellow leg chickens for some reason... I feel like its too far from the original chicken (gallus gallus). Most wild birds seem to have dark or green legs... It just seems right for a game chicken to possess this trait.

Does anyone have a preference for yellow leg chickens? And why?
i like white legs on my cubalayas except for on the blacks and brown reds. those should be dark. my asils are white legged too. i had one white cubalaya pullet hatch this year with yellow legs and have a black cubalaya stag with yellow feet

Those are good looking birds... But why would you cull them?! Wouldnt it be just as easy to sell them, where they could potentially live a full life?

I dislike killing for no reason more than I dislike yellow legs... But what do I know I'm just an Atheist.
I would cull them in a skinny minute because of the leg color. I would never sell them as that would be giving someone else my problem. Would I eat them? Depends on how old they are. If they are stags over 16 weeks then they would go straight to the mulch pile!

I always kill/cull for a reason: because I find a fault in them. I then eat them or let them turn into compost for next years tomatoes! Either way they are utilized. Has nothing to do with your religious affiliation. Has to do with improving chickens.

If you can't cull then either don't breed chickens or find another hobby. (Define cull however you like. In my mouth it means only one thing: kill).
