The USDA does have the resources to go door to door. I have a friend who works for the USDA and she was in California for 3 weeks going door to door testing and sometimes euthanizing birds.
Hobby poultry owners are reimbursed for the loss of their birds.

I have a friend who works for the USDA too. He knows a grand total of jack sh*t. Useless bunch. Along with their wildlife services division. I have another friend who has to go in and clean up what they can’t catch.

We'll see. It'll be a huge deal and nobody will stand for it.
Plus its a futile effort. All it takes is one person to transfer a sick bird to another area and it'll spread there too.

That’s why there is a mandatory euthanasia zone because too many people kept selling birds from affected areas.

I haven’t read all the articles about it. Where was it first identified back in May? Was it a commercial place with a million chickens or are they trying to pin it on someone with a backyard flock?

The better thing to do is stop treating sick birds with antibiotics and start pulling their heads off. People aren’t doing chickens any favors because they deem them as pets. Tube feeding, slings, life support, radiation etc. That’s a perfect way to ruin it for everyone.
