Show Off Your Games!

I was surprised to catch both the mystery game and the aseel cockerel crowing this morning. Several weeks younger than my jungle fowl when they start crowing, and generally they mature faster than normal barnyard chickens.
The Leghorn in the "Red Jungle Fowl" may be promoting more rapid maturation.

Please stay safe and go to higher ground!

I’ve seen some beautiful Gamefowl at over 2000 m elevation in a mild climate!

Just to be hurricane safe means less of course....I think anything Piedmont will do....

Shit! I be loading birds into feed sacks, throwing them in bed of truck and moving them out. You ever had a direct hit with pens out? You in area were there will be tidal surge?
I’m far enough inland that I won’t see any storm surge. It will have degraded a good bit by the time it gets here. Probably less than 90 mph winds. Lots of rain but I’m on a hill and it drains pretty good. All I can do is be close by and try to avert any disasters with roosters. May have problems with pens blowing over. I’ve weathered a bunch of them and only lost our house once. Well one and a half times.

Years ago in Georges, lost most of a house. History now....

Ever since that sought higher ground.

Winds like that I can not make pens for. Birds would have to be protected by some other means. Especially true with young birds.

When I was a kid Betsy put 7’ of water in our house.Lost everything. Then Katrina got me again but I salvaged some stuff. I’m a little higher now. But there’s more tornados here
