Show Off Your Horses!

Great story about Bill. I can almost picture those 6 big Belgians hitched up. Must've been an awesome sight. Fred also comes from an Amish Farm, although we didn't purchase him directly from there. We've never hitched him up, but I would love to get a big beautiful buggy for him to pull. It's on my list.

For now, we're content to ride him. Great pics, Scbatz and Lockedhearts. Beautiful horses! That black stallion is to die for!
Here are a couple of pics from this weekend. Zoe was riding Queenie, who is a 37 year old Chincoteague pony. She was brought home from the island in 1974, according to the newspaper article we recently obtained. She was a great little barrel horse years ago, but is now living out the rest of her life in luxury-content to graze and snooze whenever she feels like it. We almost lost her last winter, when she injured her hip in a fall. We don't ride her anymore, but noticed Friday, when she got out of the pasture and kept us running after her for about an hour, that she was moving around quite well. So, we decided to saddle her up on Sunday for a ride in the round pen. They just walked for a bit, but it was so good to see Zoe on her back. And again, no helmet, but I wasn't home to supervise this time. Hubby forgets, so I have to keep reminding him. I guess he thinks with a horse like Queenie, there's no need to worry. But when it comes to my kids, we ALWAYS wear helmets when we ride. Ya never know...

Gracie and Oro .... a tad thin here, Oro had been moved a few weeks before and was by himself and paced ... this is the first day we had Gracie, she is blind in one eye, a beautiful rescue. They are both very happy now and in great weight. Our 2 cats Misha and Dimitri stay in the house! Working on plans for coop, Hope to order chickens soon. Sedona, AZ
