Show off your house ducks!

I'm so glad she is OK! (And we must have videos of the Bean trill!!  I need my Bean fix!)

...and to everyone else - keep those ADORABLE pictures coming!  I personally never tire of looking at ducks!

Time to go spend some quality time with Missy - the incubator room is too hot for her - with 2 incubators, the hatcher, 2 brooders and all the electronics in here it's like one giant brooder! She has been hanging out under an end table in the living room.  My daughter's graduation party is tonight, so no fun at the waterfalls today, but I can at least get her a cool shower and a soak with her bath toys!!

Congrats to your daughter! We need more pics of ur missy as well.

Now that we have a frame of reference, it's sooo obvious Bean is female. She trills just like a baby goose!

Speaking of Bean, we had an accident today ;; I was playing with her on the bed and she just ran right off the side, right where Wobbles was waiting! He grabbed her between her wings and would NOT let go and she kept screaming and screaming...when I got him off her she ran right out the door and toppled down the stairs, and he flew right after her!

I finally cornered her under the sofa, the poor thing...there's no blood thank goodness, but oh man, she gave me such a scare! I was worried she'd had hurt herself when she took that tumble, my stairs are really steep! I'm sending Hils out to get a baby gate first thing in the morning. I want Bean to be able to run around in safety.

Absolutely can't wait to see vids of your bean. Cute, I've got a female Peking named bean as well.

Anyone notice how this thread is the most blown up on backyard chickens? A

I wish Holderread would let me know if my order can be completed. So anxious. And I have people lined up to take the rest. I am keeping three. Has anyone seen my thread I started about peepers and then how it went wrong? I posted it in the chicken area and no one's really even reply to it except to say hi and then when I said and explain the tragic story of what happened to her no one has sadly said anything Mabye I was to graphic in her end story.... Anyways. Feel so sad but she's a free spirit duckie now. And it happened outside so she can haunt the court yard and munch as much grass as she wants now.

:(

Lol, she really is cute! Look at all those pretty colors! My fav is the dark beak! I've always loved those jet black beaks! She's a beauty :)

Aww, thanks so much! She's surprised us, we thought she was a blue pied but nope, she's a tortoiseshell duck. We didn't even know that was possible; we've certainly never seen red on a call duck before! That dark bill and blueberry feets are my favorite parts <3

Oh dear, I haven't seen that, Laura. What happened? I'm almost afraid to hear the story since it has a sad end, but if there's anything we can do to help let us know :/

At 12 days old I stepped on her behind me. I had just gotten a exercise pen to keep others from stepping on her in the court yard. She would start running after other people when they walked by if we where chilling outside. she died within one second of the accident. So at least she didn't suffer to much.thats the only comfort I can take in the matter, thinking she didn't suffer

And she was just getting large enough where that wasn't an issue. I was where shoes and I never where shoes around her for that reason. Count feel her under foot and she didn't make a peep. Poop peepers.

So tragic! And quite odd that nobody responded, even tho it was the wrong thread.... And sorry for your loss. -glad- (if that's the word) she didn't suffer. And She's in duckie heaven now. :)
How long ago did this happen, do you have others? How did they react?

Don't know if you saw my thread on Lamont, which I also posted in a wrong thread originally - no responses either. but I feel your pain.
