Poults are growing like weeds. Building an outside place for them this weekend.

Hatched a pair of CLB, with more to go. One variety I've slacked on this year.

Sorry, but in the dead of summer, that's all I've got.

Cute!! Dont you just love the poults???

I've got wayyyy too many to list right now! My 7th (and final) broody is due tomorrow. Yeah! 2 sister chocolate orpingtons are sitting on 5 SDW OEGB eggs.

Oh, I also have 18 self blues from @RavynFallen in the Brinsea on day 6. :D

Had to look them up, too. They are pretty. I like these varieties because I think the hens are as colorful as the males.

There are a few varieties of OEGB where I think the hens are much prettier than the roos. Spangled Blue Reds and really good Crele hens come to mind.

The poults are a blessing and a curse. I love the vocalizations when they see me. They literally talk, lol. However, they're escape artists and are always into everything. I like them just fine, lol.

I've got a few broodies going. I always let them do their thing when I'm done hatching. Gets them cycled going into winter.

I've not raised any self blues. Love their color though.

I'm hatching eggs for buyers right now (except for CLB). I need to hatch a few Sebrights.

Very true about the poults. I loved to pull in from work and my Gemma hen always was first to greet me. I miss her alot.

That's a good point about broodies, I hadn't really thought about it since this was my first season with them.

And I sold all my sebrights! Well, almost, I have one little 3-week old one left for now. Dont know what I'm going to do with her. But I have eggs left! Thank goodness my bators are full or I'd be tempted! Lol Nah, I needed their pen, so they are gone.

Can't believe you sold the Colonel!

I know!  :hit

But the same couple came back for the girls, so they have gone to a good home.  I wish I could keep them all, but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do.

I know! Chicken subtraction isn't quite as fun especially when they're pretty birds. Helping someone out with nice birds who'll take care of them is rewarding though.
